The idea of transfroming urban spaces into farms has gained strength in several regions of the planet, making vertical projects an alternative to lessen the pressure on agricultural production. The constant advance of technology is what allows vertical farms to become more accessible and efficient. Through his type of production it is possible to bring the urban population closer to healthier food, decrease water use in agriculture by up tp 97%, and improve air quality. One of the key factors is the sustainable increase in food supply in the face of binomial super population-food shortages.
Impacts on Defense and Security: According to international reports, it is estimated that by 2050 the world population will reach 10 bilion, raising the demand for food. This makes urban vertical farms decisive to global food security, since traditional production alone will not be able to keep up with population growth.
